You Won’t Believe How Much ETH BitMine Just Bought (Hint: It’s a Lot!)

So, in a plot twist worthy of a daytime soap opera, BitMine Immersion Technologies has just announced that they’ve bought enough Ethereum to make even the most seasoned crypto enthusiast weep with joy-4.875 million tokens to be exact. That’s right, folks! Just when you thought your investments were impressive, along comes BitMine, waving its Ethereum flag like it’s the new Bitcoin.

Now, let’s talk numbers. Their entire treasure chest-which also includes a little bitcoin, some cash, and whatever ‘moonshots’ are (don’t ask, it sounds risky)-is now worth a jaw-dropping $11.8 billion. Yes, billion with a B! Who knew playing digital Monopoly could be this lucrative?

Meanwhile, Tom Lee, the company’s Chairman and self-proclaimed Ethereum whisperer, continues to sing the praises of ETH like it’s the latest pop song. He’s all about that optimism, despite the fact that ETH has taken a bit of a tumble since hitting its all-time high in 2025. Apparently, he thinks it’s been doing “impressively” well lately, particularly since the war drama in Iran started playing out like a bad reality show.

“The Iran war enters its 7th week, and this war remains the most important driver of global markets. ETH is now the best-performing asset since the start of the war, with a 17.4% gain and outperforming the S&P 500 by 1,830 basis points. And we believe ETH beating gold by 2,743 basis points demonstrates ETH is the wartime store of value,” he said.

In simpler terms, while everyone else is hoarding gold like it’s the Great Depression, Ethereum is strutting around like it owns the place-and apparently, it sort of does, at least for BitMine. According to Lee, the Ethereum ecosystem is riding high on the “dual tailwinds” of Wall Street finally figuring out how to use blockchain and AI systems desperate for public ledgers. It’s like the tech version of a buddy comedy.

And guess what? BitMine isn’t slowing down. They’ve been scooping up ETH tokens faster than my friends collect cat videos on the internet, believing we’re in the “final stages of the ‘mini-crypto winter.’” Whatever that means. I guess it’s like a chilly day in the crypto world where you still need your sweater but can see spring peeking through the clouds.

The latest haul was a whopping 71,524 ETH-a significant addition since mid-December, according to Lee. With this latest shopping spree, BitMine now owns over 4% of the total Ethereum supply. So, if you thought you had a lot of crypto, think again. BitMine is here to remind us all what real wealth looks like!
