Web3’s Wild Ride: Can Content Save Us?

Right then, as this Ethereum thingy gets older, people start expectin’ more than just smoke and mirrors, see? And standin’ right in the middle of all this fuss about wires, fancy names, and gettin’ everyone to play nice is this bloke, Austin Heaton. He’s the Head Word-Slinger over at Rise, which, if you must know, sorts out the fiddly bits like payin’ people and keepin’ the taxman happy for those Web3 types. A vital job, mind you, unless you fancy a visit from some very unhappy accountants. 💸

At some shebang in Belgrade, Austin was spoutin’ on about how writin’ stuff has changed in this digital world, what the big bosses keep messin’ up, and why tellin’ a good yarn is still as important as all the techy bits. Seems sensible, doesn’t it? 🤔

How Rise Keeps the Wheels Turning for Global Teams

Rise, they sort out international payroll and keep the taxman off your back. Sounds about as exciting as watching paint dry, but in Web3, it’s like gold dust. They let you pay in proper money or those crypto-thingies, and folks can take their dosh out however they fancy. No one’s gettin’ forced into some daft system. You can live on the moon, work with anyone, and get paid quicker than you can say “blockchain.” Easy peasy. 🚀

Yarns and Why They Matter in Web3 Land

When someone asks what we do, I don’t start wafflin’ on about the technical whatnots. I’ll say: “Right, imagine you’re a company, and I’m a contractor.” We walk through it together, it becomes real. That way, people can actually see what’s goin’ on, instead of me just throwin’ a load of jargon at ’em. They get the idea themselves, see? Clever, eh? 😉

Where to Hang Your Digital Hat in 2025

LinkedIn is top dog, no question. And yet, loads of Web3 types still give it a wide berth. They think it’s all “Web2” and stick to that X thingy, but that’s daft. If you’re not on LinkedIn, you’re missin’ out, especially if you’re sellin’ stuff to other businesses. 💼

X is still good for shoutin’ from the rooftops. But those Twitter threads need more meat on the bone these days. You can’t just post words: you need pictures, examples, and a bit of depth. That’s how you get noticed and get people to trust you. 💯

Being Honest and Not Letting the Story Run Away

Being open doesn’t mean utter chaos. When we do well, I shout about it. It’s not showin’ off; it’s proof we’re not just makin’ it up. And when things go a bit pear-shaped, you don’t need to write a saga about every little problem. Instead, ask a question, share what you’ve learned, or start a chinwag. It’s about gettin’ the community involved without losin’ sight of what you’re tryin’ to do. 🗣️

What the Big Bosses Keep Messin’ Up

The two biggest cock-ups are: 1) they don’t write enough on their company blog, and 2) the big bosses themselves are keepin’ quiet. That’s a problem. In Web3, people follow people. If your boss never posts on X or LinkedIn, it’s hard to get people to trust you. 🤫

Stuff written by the boss always does better. You could post the same thing on the company account and get one like, but post it from the boss’s account, and it gets 200. It’s not just about what you say; it’s about who’s sayin’ it. 👑

Things That Need More Attention

Two things in particular: decentralized identity and stablecoins.

Decentralized identity is gonna be everywhere, even outside of crypto. Proper companies are already lookin’ at it. It’ll be the foundation of everything. 🏗️

but can you get them all in the same room? That’s what matters. 🤝
