Ripple has taken X’s highly anticipated new financial feature for a spin.

The enterprise blockchain company simply tweeted “$XRP” to its massive following.

The evolution of cashtags

The short tweet came only hours after Nikita Bier, X’s product lead, revealed big changes to how the platform manages money and payments.

Cashtags used to simply be clickable links for searching. Now, X (formerly Twitter) is turning them into places where you can actually interact with financial information. Recently announced by Bier, the updated Cashtags feature—currently being released to iPhone users in the US and Canada—brings real-time financial data right to your timeline.
