Pi Network’s PI Skyrockets! Bitcoin Stumbles: A Tale of Two Cryptos

Bitcoin, in its infinite wisdom, once again failed to conquer the $71,000 fortress yesterday, retreating like a drunkard from a banquet. The market, ever the jester, now watches it fumble below $70,000, a price tag that might as well be written in invisible ink.

The larger-cap alts, meanwhile, performed their daily ballet of minor gains. Ethereum clung to the $2,000 lifeline with the desperation of a poet holding onto rhyme, while HYPE, that financial phoenix, soared to $37 after an 8% leap-perhaps fueled by caffeine and existential dread.

BTC Beneath $70K Again

After last Wednesday’s melodramatic rejection at $74,000, Bitcoin embarked on a tear through the abyss, plummeting to $65,600 by Monday morning. The bulls, roused from their slumber, staged a valiant but comically insufficient rally to $72,000. Yet, like a soufflé in a hurricane, it collapsed to $69,000 by Wednesday.

When the US CPI numbers arrived-predictable as a broken clock striking noon-the market yawned and remained glued to its $70,000 couch. Then, in a twist worthy of a Shakespearean farce, the POTUS declared there was “practically nothing left to target” in Iran, prompting BTC to briefly flirt with $71,000. A fleeting romance, alas. Now, it simpers below $70,000 like a spurned lover.

Its market cap hovers near $1.4 trillion, a sum so vast it could drown a small kingdom. Yet Bitcoin’s dominance? A paltry 57%, as if it’s forgotten how to lead a waltz.

PI, HYPE, SKY Jump

While Bitcoin wallowed in self-pity, the alts partied like it was 2021. HYPE, that digital trickster, skyrocketed to $8.50, its chart resembling a rollercoaster designed by a mad architect. TAO and SKY, not to be outdone, joined the revelry.

Pi Network’s token, now gracing Kraken’s stage from March 13, performed a grand masquerade. Initially flat as a pancake, it sprouted 5% overnight, peaking at $0.24-a price so modest, one might call it a diplomatic gesture to dignity.

The total crypto market cap, meanwhile, remains stuck in neutral, hovering at $2.45 trillion. A number so stagnant, one could plant a seed there and grow a cactus.
