But hey, no big deal; it’s only a few million short of a yacht. Oh, and they’re also getting a “BTC Yield” (whatever that means) of 225.4% year-to-date. A modest 66.3% of that comes from the recent quarter. To some, that might sound impressive; to others, it’s just another Tuesday for Metaplanet’s crypto wizards.

Simon Girovich, Metaplanet’s CEO, was reportedly “thrilled” by the latest acquisition, explaining that the company’s Bitcoin-buying strategy was so successful, they might just start issuing zero-interest bonds next. I mean, why not? It’s worked wonders so far. With their BTC Yield soaring, Metaplanet’s stock price surged a modest 2.34% to 1,092 yen, leaving investors in a state of mild disbelief. Over the last month, the stock has rallied over 155%, and nearly 214% year-to-date. Surely, this is just the beginning of their crypto empire, right?
