Grayscale’s Crypto Circus: ETFs, Delays, and SEC Shenanigans 😂📉

Well, folks, Grayscale, the bigwig of crypto asset management, has gone and done it again. They’ve filed a slew of ETF applications faster than a politician dodging a tough question. This time, they’re aiming to add Litecoin (LTC), Hedera (HBAR), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to their ETF circus. Because apparently, the crypto world wasn’t confusing enough already. 🎪

According to some dusty filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Grayscale wants to turn its Bitcoin Cash Trust into an ETF. If the SEC gives it the nod-and let’s be honest, that’s a big “if”-this’ll be the first Bitcoin Cash ETF in the U.S. History in the making, folks, or just another piece of paperwork for the SEC to ignore. 🤷‍♂️

The fund’s supposed to list on NYSE Arca, with the Bank of New York Mellon playing babysitter and Coinbase handling the heavy lifting. Sounds like a party, right? But don’t get too excited-the SEC hasn’t even approved the Generic Listing Standards yet. So, this whole thing might be as useful as a screen door on a submarine. 🚢

Litecoin and Chainlink: Double Trouble

Not content with just one filing, Grayscale’s also asking to convert its Litecoin Trust into an ETF. And, surprise surprise, they threw in a Chainlink ETF application earlier this week too. All of these funds are supposed to land on NYSE Arca, assuming the SEC ever gets around to making up its mind. Ah, bureaucracy-the gift that keeps on giving. 🎁

Hedera: The Wildcard

The Hedera ETF filing is a bit of a curveball. Grayscale submitted an S-1 form since they don’t already have a closed-end fund for HBAR. Nasdaq’s already filed a 19b-4 application to list this fund, but the SEC’s dragging its feet like a kid avoiding bedtime. The final deadline’s set for November 12, but Canary’s Hedera ETF faces a November 8 deadline. Coincidence? Probably not. 🕵️‍♂️

With all these filings, Grayscale’s clearly betting that U.S. regulators will eventually expand crypto ETF approvals beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. Whether that’s a smart move or just wishful thinking remains to be seen. Either way, grab your popcorn-this crypto circus is just getting started. 🍿
