Georgia’s Election Drama: Gas, Generals, and a Trump-Sized Twist

In today’s episode of “American Politics: Now With Extra Drama,” the polls in Georgia-14, the district formerly ruled by Marjorie Taylor Greene (who apparently had somewhere better to be), swung open their doors this morning. On one side, we have Clay Fuller, a Republican armed with Trump’s blessing and a firm handshake. On the other, Shawn Harris, a retired Army brigadier general who can wrangle cows as well as he can strategy, strutting into the runoff like a man who knows the Iran war may be messing with everyone’s gas tanks.

“Voters here love the president’s plan,” he declared, probably imagining himself in shining MAGA armor, ready to defend the district’s loyalty at all costs.

And lest we forget, crypto is lurking in the wings. The Fairshake crypto super PAC has $116 million poised to nudge Congress on digital assets-because nothing says “serious policymaking” like blockchain bankrolls. A Democratic tilt in November would change the crypto calculus faster than a miner chasing a new coin.

As one analyst put it, “The improvement compared to 2024 hints at Democratic enthusiasm, which is potentially ominous for Republicans and comforting for anyone who enjoys watching political tension unfold like a particularly nasty bit of origami.”
