Did This Tweet Just Doom Bitcoin? 😱

So, picture this: our lovable doomsayer, Peter Schiff, casually strolls into the room, adjusts his tie (which is probably gold-plated), and drops this bombshell on Bitcoin. He basically says it’s about to do a dramatic swan dive straight into oblivion. How very Shakespearean of him, right? 🤨

He went on (in true party-pooper fashion) to announce (with surprising confidence) that the very thing which gave Bitcoin its birth — a global financial crisis — will also deliver its final dramatic exit. Naturally, he’s thrilled about the prospect.

Bitcoin was born out of the financial crisis of 2008. Ironically, the financial crisis of 2025 will kill it.

— Peter Schiff (@PeterSchiff)

As if that wasn’t enough, he doubled down during a moment when economies everywhere seem to be playing dominoes: banks toppling, inflation skyrocketing, and investors clutching their spreadsheets like shields. While Bitcoin was once hailed as a shining knight on a digital horse, Schiff thinks it’s really just an overwhelmed stable boy with a wooden sword 🏇.

Of course, our dear gold enthusiast has been doing this song and dance for years, hitting us with BTC zingers:

  • In 2013, he called it “a bubble waiting to burst” (pop!)
  • In 2017, he went full snark with “fool’s gold” 🤑
  • In 2020, he labeled it “a pyramid scheme” (quite the geometry lesson!)

Naturally, Bitcoin has had the audacity to keep existing and occasionally making people rich, but that has yet to hush his inner monologue of warning bells. Now, with 2025 looming like a final boss in a video game, Schiff is convinced Bitcoin’s days are numbered. Whether he’s right this time or not, one thing’s clear: he’s still not signing up for that “Buy the Dip” club. 😏
