Binance, that giant beast of a crypto exchange, has given the boot to 14 altcoins! Prices went belly up faster than a chocolate factory in Willy Wonka’s wildest dream. CREAM and BETA, bless their cotton socks, plummeted nearly 60%! π₯
But hold your horses! A bit of Binance sugar can send prices sky-high! Remember that meme coin, MEW? It jumped 15% after Binance Alpha gave it a wink. Fancy that! π
The Binance Effect (or How to Make Coins Disappear)
That colossal crypto contraption, Binance, is chucking 14 altcoins out the window on April 16. We’re talking Badger (BADGER), Balancer (BAL), Beta Finance (BETA), Cream (CREAM), Cortex (CTXC), aelf (ELF), Firo (FIRO), Kava Lend (HARD), NULS (NULS), Prosper (PROS), Status (SNT), TROY (TROY), Unilend Finance (UFT), and VIDT DAO (VIDT). Blimey, what a mouthful! π€ͺ
Apparently, this financial flinging-out is thanks to a community vote. A grand total of 24,141 busybodies took part! But π€
Binance also wants you to know that after the great delisting, these coins will simply vanish from your account display. Poof! Like magic! π»
“Deposits of these token(s) will not be credited to usersβ accounts after 2025-04-16 03:00 (UTC). Withdrawals of these token(s) from Binance will not be supported after 2025-06-09 03:00 (UTC),” they declared. How very generous! π
You might be able to turn these unwanted assets into stablecoins before June 10, but Binance warns, “it is not guaranteed.” So, basically, good luck with that! π€
Unsurprisingly, all these soon-to-be-ex-coins went into a right old nosedive. CREAM and BETA took the biggest tumble, dropping almost 60%. Ouch! π€
No surprises here. Being dumped by Binance is like having your ice cream stolen by a particularly grumpy penguin. Liquidity dries up, and your reputation goes down the drain. π½
The Opposite Outcome (or How to Make Coins Jump for Joy)
On the flip side, if Binance gives a coin a cuddle, its price usually leaps about like a caffeinated kangaroo! π¦
Just recently, Binance plonked that cat-themed meme coin, Cat in a Dogs World (MEW), into its Binance Alpha section. This is where Binance shows off crypto projects they think might be alright. It’s like the waiting room before the big league. π€©
MEW’s price shot up 15% faster than you can say “crypto craze!” Of course, the bears came along later and ruined the party, because that’s what bears do. π»
