What’s the Deal Between FTX and 3AC?

Back in June 2025, FTX’s bankruptcy estate said, “Nope, not paying that,” to 3AC’s claims. The hedge fund insisted its account was worth nearly $1.6 billion when FTX collapsed in 2022, but FTX’s reps were like, “Uh, more like $284 million after we subtract that $733 million in margin debt.” Oops? 😬📉

In a 94-page objection that probably doubled as a doorstop, FTX’s lawyers called 3AC’s claim “illogical and baseless.” Their argument? “FTX creditors shouldn’t have to clean up 3AC’s mess.” Because apparently, leverage is fun until it’s not. 🤷‍♂️💥

According to the filing, 3AC refused to acknowledge its liabilities and tried to pass the buck to other creditors. Most of that $284 million vanished in two days during the June 2022 crypto crash-$222 million to market declines and $60 million withdrawn by 3AC itself.
