Ah, Aave, that sly character of the decentralized finance world. At the mere price of $265, it seems to have found a nice spot for itself, like a good cup of tea left out just long enough to cool. Though it’s up 3% in the past 24 hours, don’t be fooled – it’s still down by 6% in the last month. The drama! 😱
Aave has officially reached a monumental milestone. It’s the first decentralized finance protocol to surpass $60 billion in net deposits! (Cue the confetti 🎉)
$60B net deposits.
DeFi will win.
– Aave (@aave) August 6, 2025
Net deposits, for the uninitiated, are the difference between the total assets supplied and the total borrowed. Positive figures? More money is coming in than leaving. A very telling sign of confidence, or should I say, a growing affection for Aave. Stani Kulechov, the grand architect behind Aave, sees this as clear evidence that DeFi is winning hearts. But will it win wallets too?
Aave on-chain metrics surge but market activity cools
Hold on to your hats, because the numbers are looking up. DeFiLlama’s numbers show Aave’s Total Value Locked (TVL) has increased by over 45%, from $24 billion in early July to $34.9 billion. And those network fees? They’ve risen from $48 million in June to $65 million in July. Translation: Aave’s making money, whether we’re paying attention or not.
But here’s a twist! To keep those developers on their toes, Aave released its V3 developer toolkit on Aug. 6. This toolkit isn’t just for looks. It includes React hooks, SDKs, and APIs to help deploy lending vaults. Vaults, folks! The kind that enable risk-customized borrowing and yield strategies. Just when you thought Aave couldn’t get more complicated, they throw in vaults. 🙄
But here’s the catch: despite all these shiny on-chain stats, market activity remains… a tad indifferent. Aave’s 24-hour spot volume dropped 13% to $297 million, while derivatives volume also took a hit, falling 19.3% to $503.6 million. Yet, open interest crept up 4.1%, to $561.9 million, signaling that while no one’s rushing, some are quietly setting up for something big. Is it like preparing for an opera? Or just waiting for the plot to thicken? 🤔
Aave technical analysis
Now let’s talk about Aave’s technicals. Think of it like trying to read a book written in invisible ink – it’s there, but you need the right lens. The MACD is still in bearish territory at -9.31, and the relative strength index (RSI) is neutral at 43.3. For the moment, the 100- and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs) are in the “buy” zone, but many of the shorter-term averages are throwing off sell signals. A bit of a mixed message. 😬
The awesome oscillator and Stochastic RSI? They’re equally neutral, but the momentum is slowly creeping toward the bullish side. Aave could break past that 20-day EMA and jump to $280, which would open the door to the next resistance level – a rather cozy $310-$315 range. But don’t get too excited; if Aave falls below $250-$255, we could see a return to the dreary $230 lows from June. Talk about a rollercoaster, right? 🎢
If Aave slips below the lower Bollinger Band, that would likely signal an acceleration of downward pressure, so stay on guard. It’s like watching a thriller – you never know when the twist is coming. 😜
