So, Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) is in the hot seat again, folks! He’s pushing back against these wild allegations that he’s somehow connected to World Liberty Financial (WLF), a firm that’s got its fingers in the Trump pie. 🍰

CZ slams WSJ claims

In a classic move, CZ took to X (formerly Twitter, because why not?) to roast a Wall Street Journal article that suggested he was involved with this Trump-affiliated entity and its supposed stake in Binance US. I mean, come on! 😒

He called the report a “hit piece,” which is just a fancy way of saying, “You guys are full of it!” He accused them of spreading falsehoods and misrepresenting his stance on decentralized finance. Classic media, right?

He said, 

“I am not a fixer for anyone. I did NOT ‘connect Mr. Saqib with the WLF team’. They had known each other way back, whereas I only met with Mr. Saqib for the first time in Pakistan. I did NOT make any ‘introductions for World Liberty’s foreign travels.’”

How did he justify the allegations?

Zhao was not having it! He strongly refuted claims that he acted as a liaison for WLF and its co-founder Zach Witkoff during overseas trips. Apparently, a visit to Pakistan led to a memorandum of understanding with local authorities. Sounds like a plot twist, right? 📜

He rejected the article’s portrayal of him as a “fixer” for WLFI, calling out what he described as deliberate misreporting. Because who doesn’t love a good smear campaign? 🙃

His PR team jumped in, highlighting multiple factual errors in the story, suggesting it was crafted with a harmful agenda. Shocking! A media outlet with an agenda? Who would’ve thought? 😏

CZ went even further, accusing the Wall Street Journal of being a platform for anti-crypto agendas aimed at derailing America’s potential leadership in the digital asset space. Because, of course, they’re out to get him! 🕵️‍♂️

“They want to attack crypto, global crypto leaders, and the pro-crypto administration.”
