SEC Shenanigans: Hinman’s Report Will Blow Your Mind! 🤯

So, check this out: Jason Foster, the mastermind behind Empower Oversight Whistleblowers & Research, has somehow got his hands on the SEC’s crypto conflicts report on the notorious William Hinman. I mean, really? Who else saw that coming? 🤷‍♂️

Then we have the Office of Inspector General – the self-appointed rule enforcers of the SEC. And guess what? They found zero criminal violations. Yeah, zero! As if that settles everything, right? 🙄

Remember Hinman’s infamous 2018 rant, where he declared Ethereum (ETH) wasn’t a security? Well, apparently it didn’t break any ethics rules. I mean, sure, because who really follows “direct and predictable” repercussions anyway? 😂

According to the OIG, that speech did nothing for Hinman’s bank account. No direct or predictable benefit. Oh, come on! We all know how these things work…

Now, Hinman left Simpson Thacher & Bartlett – a classy New York law firm – after 16 long years, only to jump on board the SEC in May 2017. They even whispered about his supposed financial interest in keeping Ether classified as a non-security. Seriously, talk about misplaced loyalties!

The report insists there’s no evidence that contradicts Hinman’s claim of staying out of any crypto shenanigans. And, get this, he claimed he didn’t own a single crypto coin as of his 2021 testimony. Yeah, right! 🤨

The icing on the cake? That infamous speech was “collaboratively drafted.” So basically, Hinman didn’t even get to call the shots; it was like a group project where nobody really wanted to do the work. Classic, isn’t it? 😆

Of course, Empower Oversight is on the attack, saying the report only zooms in on criminal conflicts of interest. Because why not leave out all the other juicy details? Trust me, it’s a real amusement park of missed opportunities! 😂
