Trump 2028? GameStop CEO Cohen Stirring the Punch Bowl Again!

Well, I say, old bean, it appears that the chap at the helm of GameStop, one Ryan Cohen, has gone and chucked a spanner into the works once more. On the 17th of April, no less, he dashed off a post on the old X (formerly known as Twitter, don’t you know) declaring “Trump 2028.” Jolly bold move, what? The fellow’s clearly not one to shy away from a bit of controversy, eh?

Now, this little nugget of wisdom has set the cat among the pigeons, as it were. The Trump enthusiasts and a smattering of shareholders are toasting him like he’s the second coming, while the retail “ape” brigade-chaps who’ve been clinging to their $GME shares like a limpet to a rock-are having a bit of a collective conniption. They’re muttering that this is all a bit of a sideshow, diverting attention from GameStop’s grand plan to claw its way back to glory. Rather a spot of bother, wouldn’t you say?

Old Cohen, it seems, has form in this department. He’s been waving the Trump flag before, and each time it’s stirred up a hornet’s nest of opinions. Investors and the denizens of online forums are about as united on this as a roomful of cats at a dog show. And let’s not forget the memes, old sport-they’ve been breeding like rabbits, despite the pesky U.S. Constitution saying, “No third term for you, Mr. President.” Still, one can’t help but chuckle at the sheer audacity of it all.

So there you have it, a bit of a rumpus in the world of retail and politics. One can only wonder what the next act in this grand farce will bring. Until then, pip pip!
