OMG you guys, stop everything you’re doing because The Hashgraph Group (which sounds like a support group for tech nerds with amazing hair) just threw their money at AgNext Technologies! ๐ค
Like, on April 7th they were all “We’re totally investing in this cool ag-tech thing” which is basically making farming as high-tech as my iPhone, but probably with fewer selfies ๐ฑ And here I thought agriculture was just about knowing which end of the cow goes “moo.”
So, picture this: Denmark’s Novo Holdings (probably wearing Vikings helmets during the meeting) led this whole money party, and The Hashgraph Group was like “We want in on this farm-to-table-to-blockchain situation!” ๐ฉ๐ฐ
AgNext is planning to use Hedera’s blockchain thingy to make food supply chains more trustworthy. Because apparently, we need computers to tell us if our tomatoes are lying to us now ๐
Stefan Deiss (who definitely has a LinkedIn profile picture in a blazer) said something super fancy about “tech-enablement journey” and “convergence of AI and Blockchain/DLT.” I mean, couldn’t he just say “We’re making farming cool” and save us all some time? ๐ค
They’re also doing something with smart contracts, which I assume is like regular contracts but they went to Harvard ๐
These nerds are so excited they’re opening up shop in Switzerland. Because if you’re going to revolutionize farming, you might as well do it somewhere with excellent chocolate ๐ซ
BTW, AgNext already got $21 million in 2021, which is like, a lot of tractors. They’re spreading faster than gossip in a writer’s room, with offices in India, the Middle East, and the US ๐
And Hedera? They’re out there doing something called “tokenization of real-world assets” which sounds like turning your grandmother’s china into computer code. They’ve teamed up with Chainlink and Alchemy Pay, because apparently one complicated tech thing wasn’t enough ๐คช
